Office Floors
If the roof/ceiling height permits - the most economical way of increasing office floor space is by utilising the “dead” space available in the height, this allows office staff to be centrally located and minimises the additional on cost of communication equipment i.e. data cabling, telephone wiring etc.
Typically, an office mezzanine is designed with a loading of 3.2kN/m2 and can be designed as small or as large as required.
Building control regulations stipulate that the floor must have fire protection i.e. sprinklers or fire retardant ceilings/column casings to the underside of the mezzanine and cavity barriers and fire retardant bulkheads to the floor perimeter.

Retail Floors
Support columns can be strategically located amongst the ground floor displays or shelving layouts.
